Here's what you get when you combine the blog entry from yesterday with the Visual Library and a really cool Sticky Note component by Gerrit Grunwald:
The Sticky Note sidebar is part of each and every Java document in the IDE. Whenever you open a Java document, the Sticky Note sidebar is shown, i.e., it is part of the Java document (and not a separate palette or via a separate TopComponent), enabling you to create reminders for yourself dedicated to the current Java document, while you're coding.
Notes are added by right-clicking in the Sticky Note sidebar and choose "New Sticky Note". Notes can be moved and resized.
