I just finalized my schedule for Oracle open World (OOW).  I will be blogging on the sessions I attend for those of you who won’t be there. In addition to  attending sessions, I’ll be doing a number of other things. On Sunday, I’ll be attending the Essbase Customer Advisory Board meeting as well as other events. I’ll make occasional appearances at the interRel Booth to help out when I’m not doing other activities.    When I signed up to go to OOW, I was just going to go as a participant, but I then picked up a session to speak on.

Tuxedo product management Sr. Director Deepak Goel blogs about the general availability of Tuxedo 11gR1 PS1 release (version 11.1.1.2.0). According to Deepak, this release introduces several cusomer-driven enhancements and features for mainframe application rehosting. He highlights the features/enhancements included in this release. He also notes that these new capabilities will be discussed and demonstrated at Oracle OpenWorld (OOW), San Francisco week of September 19th.

It’s been long since the last post. I’ve been on vacation plus leave of absence and traveling around northern Europe with my bike ‘Surley’. It was the best trip in my life and maybe the best thing I’ve ever done. But now back to work, another thing I love! The WebLogic Diagnostic Framework (WLDF) is a very powerful capability that has been in the product since WebLogic 9.0. WebLogic's product documentation does a good job of describing the fine detail of WLDF, but I believe that the high level overview it provides is too verbose and makes WLDF seem more complicated than it is. This is probably one reason why I don't see WLDF used quite as often as it should be, in place of custom coded monitoring solutions.
